Knowles ‘Novacap at Syfer’ brand safety approved MLCC range

This is the official notification that a new recommended series of Knowles surface mount safety rated Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor is released. The new part utilises an alternative dielectric material that allows us to ensure future supply, and provide more optimized cost.
At this time, there is no intention to stop manufacture of the current part, but they should be considered Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND) and we strongly suggest that any new designs utilize the new version. It is also acceptable to replace the original version in existing applications.

PDN (Product Discontinuation Notification) ProtectiCap Withdrawal

Knowles Capacitors has recently conducted a ProtectiCap business review and regrets to advise that this product range will now be discontinued in the Knowles (UK) Ltd facility.

The review also concluded that ProtectiCap manufacture will not be relocated from the Knowles Norwich UK facility to the Knowles Suzhou China facility as a result of the complexity of the ProtectiCap coating process and the relatively low value of ProtectiCap Sales. mehr ...
